Penniless? A project with Professor Cathy Shrank at Sheffield University, looking at the work of writer Thomas Nashe in the 1590s. For this project, Heywood created a series of drawings based on Nashe’s personification of the deadly sins, in his work ‘Pierce Penniless’. Nashe printed his work in cheap, pamphlet form and spread it across London. A zine was created from Heywood’s images, 2 copies of which are held at The Baltic, Newcastle.
